On the change of visa requirements for Turkish citizens starting from 1 January 2016
The Russian Federation has decided to partially suspend the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the mutual travel procedure for the citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of the Republic of Turkey, signed on May 12, 2010. in respect of the citizens of the Republic of Turkey - holders of ordinary passports.
Starting from January 1, 2016 these citizens will have to obtain a Russian visa.
This measure does not apply to the citizens of the Republic of Turkey who have a temporary residence permit or a residence permit in the Russian Federation, holders of diplomatic, special or service passports, as well as members of their families who have special, service and ordinary passports.
Citizens of the Republic of Turkey, who have entered the Russian Federation prior to January, 1 2016, can stay in the territory of the Russian Federation and leave without visas if they have valid documents and the period of stay from the date of entry to the Russian Federation does not exceed 30 days.
