National Day reception held at the Russian Embassy

On June 13, 2018 the Embassy of Russia in Malta hosted a reception on the occasion of a national holiday – Russia Day. Among the guests were President of Malta Ms. Maria-Louise Coleiro Preca, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion Dr. Carmelo Abela, Minister the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change Dr. Jose Herrera, Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds and Social Dialogue Dr. Aaron Farrugia, President Emeritus, business, cultural and scientific personalities, members of t he Diplomatic Corps and the Russian community.

In his speech, Ambassador Malygin stressed that Russo-Maltese relations have a considerable potential, which can be tapped as a result of joint efforts aimed at deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. He also highlighted that Russia seeks to cooperate with those countries which publicly declare that they are ready and willing to cooperate with us.

On her part President of Malta Ms. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca expressed hope that our bilateral ties, which have deep historical roots, will continue developing successfully for the benefit of peoples of both countries.

The guests of the reception had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with photo exhibitions and video presentations dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Ekaterinburg’s bid to host 2025 World Expo and the charms of Russia.

The reception was marked by a warm and friendly atmosphere.
