Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Malta
Mr. Vladimir Malygin was born in 1950.
He graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1972 and from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989.
Mr. Vladimir Malygin has been in the Diplomatic Service since 1972. He worked at the Embassies of the USSR and Russia in Sweden, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of Cyprus. He served as Consul General of Russia in Edinburgh, Great Britain and in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
He also occupied a number of important positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the latest assignment being Deputy Head of the Second European Department.
Awarded an Order of Friendship and the Medal of the Order For Service to the Fatherland II class. Merited Worker of the Diplomatic Service of the Russian Federation.
On December 12, 2014 Mr. Vladimir Malygin was appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Malta.
He holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
